About Camps at Sunderview and Bompu

APACETS in association with Tukpen Village Council ( TVC) have started Eco camps in Eagle Nest at Sunderview & Bompu sights, which will be operational during month Sep 2013. The MOU signed during Jan 2013. Which allows APACETS to operate in Eagle Nest area from Sunderview till lower areas of Doimara ( Close to Assam Border ). Also NOC was taken from PCCF ,Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department ( Itanagar ) which allows APCET to run Eco - accommodation in Eagle nest area.

An advantage Eagle's Nest has over other areas is that one can watch birds at different altitudes with camp facilities available at different sites such as lama camp, Sunderview , Bompu etc. Mainly managed by Bugun and Shertukpen tribes, it supports ecotourism which is fairly evident in the habitat and wildlife that thrives in the forests surrounding these campsites.

The sunderview Birding lodge located between Lama camp and Bompu Birding camp is a well maintained basic but comfortable accommodation surrounded by forest from all sides. There are 4 twin bedded bamboo cottages with traditional Arunachal decorations . It has common toilet facilities. A spacious dining area for the guests where freshly cooked vegetarian meals are served . Hot water can be served in bucket. These cottages are eco friendly with least impact on nature.

March 2013 , APACETS started their groundwork of setting 02 accommodation facilities ( Sunderview / Bompu ) , These accommodation facilities are located on the same grounds where previous camps were set, which means no damage to the local Ecology is done , At Sunderview there is a set of 04 Bamboo huts with common Toilets & Kitchen & Dining area . The construction of this huts were personally monitored by team of APACETS & Tukpen tribe, under the rules & guidance of Local forest & State Forest authorities . Our team have made sure that Minimum damage is done to the Habitat & area should kept under the limits of previous camp sight,

Similarly Camps at Bompu will be operational during the month OCT 2013, on the same sight of previous camps therefore we will maintain the limits & will be personally monitored , We understand the value of Local Habitat therefore almost every building material was purchased from Local Market rather than Damaging the Local bamboo forestation , which have been done in past

Bompu Birding Camp

Set at lower altitude about 15 kms from Bompu Biding Camp is one of the most important campsite for birding. Bompu used to be the military labor camp earlier. Bompu birding camp now offers tented accommodation- approx 15 basic tents but very comfortable with cots and thick mattresses. A separate dining tent where freshly cooked meals will be served with a fully functional kitchen. Hot water can be served in the bucket.

Accommodation

At Bompu , we provide tented accommodation on twin or single basis. Each tent will be provided with camp cots and Thick sleeping mats. Blankets & Quilts. We have separate toilet area (Western commode ) and Bathing area . Bathing will be by bucket and mug. Toilet paper, soap and towels will be provided. Hot water buckets will be provided for washing.

Meals, Drinking water and Beverages

We will provide all meals ( Breakfast / Lunch & Dinner ). There will be a separate dining area for dining and multipurpose use. If you have any diet restrictions or are a vegetarian, do inform us.

Early morning in camp

Bed Tea on waking.Coffee is available as a substitute if demanded.

Drinking water

Drinking water provided, will be from local springs, after filtering . If you are particular about using only bottled water, Than it can arranged on request at extra cost.

Light / Electricity & Phone connectivity

Bompu camp is located far for human settlement therefore there is no Govt electric supply in the area , to charge for betteries we have solar charging facilities , also we have solar charged lamps to light up your tents.

Bompu is towards the assam side of the eagle nest range therefore there is limited phone connectivity , there are few point within the camp area where one can find the phone connectivity. We advise BSNL connections as you can connect easily with BSNL connections.
